The Summer Job Service program was launched on March 1, 2012. As in previous years, the program is providing a wage subsidy to employers/organizations who hire students for the summer months. Successful applicants will receive $2/hour up to $1,120 per position (560 hours). In order to be eligible, the student must be between 15-30, returning to school in the Fall and not related to the employer. One of the major changes this year is that we are trying to move to an electronic process. Our website, which has the link to the new Online Application and instructions for you, has been updated. You can access our website with one of the below links: English site is Ontario.ca/northernsummerjobs / French site is: Ontario.ca/emploisdetedunord If you have difficulty accessing the form or have other program specific questions, please contact the Temiskaming Shores office at 705-647-7392 or North Bay 705-494-4045 and someone will be able to assist you. Please feel free to distribute the information to your colleagues/contacts.

The North Bay Newcomer Network is researching how small and medium size businesses access and utilize their Human Resources and Employment Services in the Nipissing, Parry Sound, Timiskaming Shores and Cochrane districts. We recognize that your prime objective as a business owner/manager is to successfully deliver services and/or products to your customers. The NNN is looking to see if there is an interest and a need to offer a professional "One Stop" Human Resources North Centre for employers to access. The Human Resources North Centre would support and assist with: hiring of staff, managing workforce by motivating and retaining staff, increase productivity by having a diverse workforce that is able to work harmoniously with a variety of others, disability claims management for ill and/or injured workers, health and safety policy and procedures, on-the-job training for their employees’ personal development, with legislative requirements, policy development and implementation or any other Human Resources or Employment Services that they need. Please complete this short survey which should take less than 10 minutes. Your feedback will help us to determine your specific needs and whether there is a need for a Human Resources North Centre. We would like to thank you for your time! Please note that all information gathered will be strictly confidential. |
