Temiskaming Shores, May 29, 2015 – For centuries, the French language has been spoken on the shores of Lake Temiskaming. Four hundred years ago, Samuel de Champlain first ventured into Algonquin and Ojibway land and in so doing, set foot in what is known today as Ontario. Voyageurs following in his footsteps made it all the way to Lake Temiskaming. Over time, on either side of the lake, settlers established a dynamic Francophone community with a proud history

The second edition of the Lake Temiskaming Tour tourism brochure is launched:
building on a successful Ontario-Québec partnership
For the second year in a row, communities and organizations from Ontario and Quebec have come together to promote tourism in the region surrounding Lake Temiskaming.
This promotional tool showcases a tourism circuit that takes visitors on a trip without boundaries where they can discover the region’s Anglophone, Francophone and Algonquin cultures and experience original vacation activities grouped by theme.
The Lake Temiskaming Tour has recently launched a brochure to promote the sites, attractions and events around Lake Temiskaming which links Ontario and Quebec. The circuit takes visitors on a trip around the Lake showcasing the region’s Francophone, Anglophone and Aboriginal cultures. The slogan of this unique cross-border tourism initiative proclaims: One Lake, Two Provinces, Three Cultures.
